Bob founded Atlantic Specialty Lines Inc., in 1996 as a full service wholesale brokerage opertaion.
As Co-Owner and Chairman of the Board, he is responsible for maintaining comprehensive business
strategies for the organization. The company's continued success can be attributed to his strong focus
on business development through liaison with carriers, implementation of marketing strategies and directing
sales center managers and staff to support the organizational goals and profit objectives.
Prior to establishing Atlantic Specialty Lines, Bob held the position of Vice President/Director at Markel
Service, the unit that launched the base business writing forming ASL today.
He has been married to his wife, Cindy, for more than forty years. The couple has two children and
Marty is Co-Owner and President of Atlantic Specialty Lines, Inc., overseeing operational
and financial aspects of the company. Through liaison with the individual sale center and
corporate team managers, carriers and vendor partners Marty seeks opportunities
to develop revenue streams that can generate increased bottom line profitability.
Marty worked with the Wholesale Brokerage Division of Markel Service, Inc., in underwriting/brokerage
and marketing roles. This division was the preceding entity to Atlantic Specialty Lines, Inc. Marty is
the founder and owner of Professional Governmental Underwriters, Inc., created in 1993 as a full service
management company to assist local governments, educational and non profit entities with their professional
After earning his B.A.'s in American Goverment and Foreign Affairs and Economics from the University of
Virginia in 1981, Marty began his insurance career with Aetna C&S Casualty Underwriting in Richmond VA.
He holds the CPCU and ASLI professional designations, and has completed the ARM curriculum. Marty is the
past president of the Greater Richmond Chapter of the Soceity of CPCU.
Seth began his career at Markel Insurance Company as an associate handling underwriting in the Health
and Fitness Industry segment. In 1996, he transitioned with the primary personnel group that operates
as the modern ASL organization.
Prior to his current position as manager and Chief Operating Officer of the Florida office, Seth gained
experience by starting from the bottom up, learning all facets of the excess and surplus lines marketplace
to eventually lead the highest premium growth team within the ASL VA profit team.
Seth holds the professional surplus lines designation, ASLI, and has completed extensive CPCU course studies.
He was a former president of the AAMGA Under Forty Organization and continues member involvement through
participation in the Automation and Membership Committees.
Jim joined Atlantic Specialty Lines in 2003 to provide financial oversight in company operations. He is
directly responsible for ASL financial aspects, including Corporate and Individual Profit Center Finance,
Accounts Receivable and Payable, Tax and License compliance, and Treasury Functions.
In addition, Jim leads financial projects such as acquisition, due diligence, budgeting and company
An original member of the Atlantic Specialty Lines foundation group, Eunice assumes the position
of Corporate Liaison. Her role in the company's operational processes includes Information Technology,
Human Resources, and Policy Services.
Working with each profit center as a central resource in carrier, employee, and customer development is key in her
duty to the company. Goals in this position include enforcing owner strategic plans and initiatives focused
toward growth and bottom line profitability.
Eunice holds the professional designations CIC, ASLI, and CRM.
Erin started her career at Atlantic Specialty Lines, Inc. in October 1999, typing policies in the Policy
Services Department. She took on various roles, working in Account Payables as well as handling the Bordeaux.
As ASL grew, she was appointed Policy Services Manager.
She displayed her versatility with the company, continuing to fill key positions within other departments.
Critical experience in most facets of the organization provided Erin the position of Atlantic Specialty Lines
Business Analyst in 2010. In this role, she is responsible for training ASL's new hires and works to
create efficiency within the entire organization.
Chief Information Officer/Chief Information Security Officer
Brian Mehle is one of many Veterans to join our team and comes to us from the United States Navy. Brian holds a Bachelor’s degree in Programming where he graduated Summa Cum Laude from American Intercontinental University, after receiving an associates degree from Columbia. Brian holds 11 Microsoft certifications, he is a certified Project Management Professional and is Master Trainer certified.
Brian joined the team in December of 2009 where he began working with the ASL development team. Brian has worked his way up through the ranks holding titles of Developer, Senior Developer, IT Manager, Chief Information Officer and Chief Information Security Officer.
Paige recently joined Atlantic Specialty Lines, Inc. to handle HR initiatives on behalf of all profit
centers and corporate teams. Responsible tasks included coordination of company requirements related
to employee matters such as recruiting, hiring, and developing benefits management.
Additionally, Paige will drive enhancement to ASL's organic growth by assisting managers as they develop
internal associates and build sources from external resources of acquistions, new hires, or candidates in
a developing ASL university program.
Vice President of Corporate Underwriting & Analysis
In 2012, Eric joined the Atlantic Specialty Lines team to manage the claims operations and enhance
relationships with the London and Domestic Carrier clients. With over 26 years of claims industry
experience, the decision to bring Eric on board is a testament to the companys' continued growth
and success as a managing general agency and brokerage company.
Eric chose the insurance field after graduating from Virginia Commonwealth University with a
Bachelor of Arts in History. Soon after college, he learned all aspects of claims management in
the Property & Casualty industry in Richmond, Virginia, holding positions as a claims adjuster,
fraud investigator, and in litigation and staff management. Prior to ASL, Eric was involved in
managing the Virginia operations for a multi-state independent claim adjusting firm and third
party administrator servicing E&S carriers.
Greg began his insurance career at Markel Service, Inc. in September 1992 typing policies and
endorsements. Greg worked his way into a Customer Service Representative role, Underwriting Assistant,
and Commercial Lines Underwriter until the split off with ASL in 1996.
Prior to starting a career, Greg graduated from Syracuse University with a BA in Economics. Over the
past 18 years, he has built strong friendships and business relationships with retailers, company
underwriters, and other brokers throughout the United States and overseas in London.
Senior Vice President of Sales and Business Development, Virginia
Dave began employment at Atlantic Specialty Lines in 1999, where he managed underwriting, negotiated
authority contracts, deployed marketing initiatives, product development, and sales of the Personal
Lines products. As one of the top producers at ASL VA from 2001 to 2009 in the Commercial Lines
underwriting team, he was quickly promoted to Commercial Production Manager for the Virginia ASL
Dave was promoted to Vice President of Commercial Lines in 2013, overseeing all aspects of the commercial
lines team. In addition, he spends a great deal of time mentoring and coaching the Commercial Team, the most
challenging, exciting, and rewarding part of his new position. The future producers and sales team members
are full of energy, intelligence, and determination as a result of his management.
Dave earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1998 from Longwood College, where he was presented with
the Leadership recognition award. He is a designated Certified Insurance Counselor and affiliated
member of NAPSLO and AAMGA.
Jason entered the insurance field while interning at Colony Insurance Company and Essex Insurance
Company. After graduating from Hampden-Sydney College with a degree in Economics, he moved to Arizona
and worked for a competitor before starting his career with Atlantic Specialty Lines, Inc.
In 2002, Jason helped to establish Atlantic Specialty Lines of Florida as a Commercial Lines Underwriter.
He is currently responsible for assisting in the overall operation of the Florida office, as well as
business analysis for the ASL Corporation, focusing on web-related services.
Marcy began her career with Atlantic Specialty Lines in 1999 as an Underwriting Assistant. Prior
transitioning to the Florida office in 2002, she became an Underwriter and now leads the Commercial
Lines team in Florida as a Senior Underwriter.
Before entering a career in insurance, Marcy worked as a receptionist at Markel Services Inc. in
1992, after attending Old Dominion University. From 1996 to 1999, she worked at Essex Insurance
Company until joining Atlantic Specialty Lines in Richmond, Virginia.
Her professional recognition includes receiving the West Coast Insurance Group Underwriter of
the Year in 2010 and 2011. Marcy has also completed the NAPSLO Advanced School in 2007.
Dianne joined the team in July, 2005 as Managing Partner of Atlantic Specialty Lines of Pennsylvania.
Prior to partnering with ASL, Dianne developed business expertise through opportunites in production
underwriting of commercial, personal, and professional lines products. She previously held the position
as Assistant Vice President with United National Group, dedicating efforts to specialty writing
Special recognitions include tenure with Reliance, Fireman's Fund and Atlantic Mutual with focus on
middle market and sales management. She has attained both the CPCU and AU designations during her
25 plus years in insurance.
Danny Gendusa, a 34-year veteran of the insurance industry, to lead the initiative. Not only does Danny bring years
of experience, most recently as Director of Underwriting at RPS Covington Division, but he knows the region and the issues
it faces on a daily basis. He is the immediate Past President of the Professional Insurance Agents Association North Shore
Chapter, an approved insurance instructor with the Louisiana Department of Insurance, Member of the Louisiana Insurance
Commissioner's Surplus Lines Advisory Counsel and the immediate Past President of Louisiana Surplus Line Association.
Danny also holds designations for Certified Insurance Wholesaler (CIW) and Certified Professional Insurance Agent (CPIA).
